Water mill fortified Bagas

Author 'Perronnet Catherine' (Id 199650 ) : In June, we made a trip focused on the discovery of mills, including this one particular remarkable and well-restored. This is the water mill fortified Bagas built in the Xiv century on the Dropt in the entre-deux-Mers in the Gironde. I stayed to admire its lines, and the powerful but harmonious a great time.

Thank you very much for this nice comment and I am delighted that the building you like it as much as me. Your name reminds me of the England that I love so much : are you English ?

Pretty this mill girondin... I don't know him but, by your beautiful photography, you we incurred. Beautifully restored but is it always functional ? I believe that one day, these works, there will not be that of the figuration... Congratulations to you and thank you so much for this 'table' of hunting. Amts, Marc.

Thanks for everything Marc. This windmill is a private property which can be visited during Heritage days, but it no longer works.

Beautiful the mill, well restored. A very beautiful image well composed. Just a hair overexposed, I'll spend retouching.

Beautiful building, massive, but relieved by the small windows and towers at the corners, it is well restored, everything seems new for the time, it makes me think of the tower of Rennes-le-Château, in the Aude (in the garden of the famous Abbot). The shed (for your horses ? To unload or store the bags of flour ?) and the gateway are all pretty rare it seems. Beautiful discovery Cathy

Thanks for everything Misty. In this region, there are a lot of mills fortified but this one is particularly beautiful and well renovated.

It is super beautiful and you have well framed just as it was. I like the small bridge which also leads to a shines I presume ? Very beautiful image !

Thank you for all of Guylaine. In fact the gateway is a bridge that leads to the entrance of the mill, as a strong castle, since it is a fortified mill. I will post another photo to your e-mail address for you to see.

An image well composed with this splendid building has been restored the pale stone catches the light and the small shelter invites us to make a stop to contemplate at greater length

Thank you Mady for the layout in the favorites and your nice comment. From the front it really made think of a castle.

Thou hast well framed : it stops for observation and then the small road invites us to continue the walk . A beautiful building in a beautiful vegetation.

Maintenance after renovation has been completed, the stone is beautiful, powerful lines, as you outlined, a beautiful building to be retained in the state and also to perpetrate the story

Un bien beau moulin aux formes inhabituels (Nicoledesplat)
Je suis fan de toutes les sortes de moulins et ce moulin à eau fortifié est particulièrement impressionnant. Merci Nicole de lui avoir donne une place d'honneur. (Perronnet Catherine)
