Identification > Le Fada de Marseille [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Oct 29, 2010
It is an epiphytic orchid that is found throughout tropical America, it is the Epidendrum ciliare. This plant is characterized by many tiny hairs arranged on either side of its lip, hence the name Epidendrum ciliare. It is very easy to grow, it quickly forms large clumps and blooms profusely, especially in winter. Beautiful flowers are very elegant, imbued with a touch of exoticism. : 1:

The Fada pictures so I guess! I visited your gallery with great pleasure, because I lived three decades in your beautiful city in the area of the Old Chapel, not far from the park Borelly in the 8th. One day my husband Marseille birth too, told me: "You do not choose Marseille, it chooses you" is so true that I have his imprint in me for life. I indulge in digressions, but the temptation was too strong. The purpose of this post was mainly to thank you for your excellent information on my wild orchid. Thank you again.

Thank you for your comment Patjo indeed here it is hot all year, but contrary to popular belief, the temperature rarely exceeds 30 degrees and the trade winds helping the heat is quite bearable. Many species of orchids grow here.
