I think it is the perennial plant, Cochlospermum tinctorium, or the fake cotton in French which does not exceed fifty centimeters in height. It flowers in the dry season. Its clusters of flowers are bright yellow with five petals, appear near the ground and give birth to capsules ovoid, containing many seeds. Very nice catch

Thank you for this identification. Many classifications place this genus in the family Bixaceae. It is native to the tropical regions of the world, in particular Latin America, Africa, the indian sub - continent and Australia.
