Identification > Le Fada de Marseille [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Feb 18, 2008
I can confirm that it is indeed the flower of alpinia purpurata(zingiberacée). Common in most gardens, this plant in Indonesia and the Pacific islands does not seem to have really found its place in the classification complex of his family. Beautiful photo !

This is the 'red Ginger' (Alpinia purpurata) is well recognizable thanks to its large leaves are oval and pointed and its red bracts. Thank you for this photo identification.

Alpinia purpurata : perhaps it is this variety of ginger, but our botanists will confirm it... Or not.
The conditions of shooting are not the best, but you can see the flower and the leaf.

If the large leaves belong to the flower, I would say 'ginger pink alpinia purpurata rosea'. You get to see the wonders between the butterflies and the flowers ! Please show us some fine specimens.
