This image of the cemetery sardinian under the snow is nice and 'relaxing'.
But, am I the only one curious to ask the question, who are these French soldiers buried there ? Savoie was annexed in 1815 by the kingdom of Sardinia, which also depended on the Piedmont, and then surrendered in 1860 to France in exchange for its help to oust the Austrians out of Italy. It does not appear that there has been fighting in this region, and even less of battle, in the region during this period. So, would it be of victims of the second Italian campaign in 1800, under napoleon Bonaparte, or even the first in 1796-97 ?
