Dsc03663 trees apart from the day to the leman

Author 'Hiris' (Id 57472 ) : This is a real achievement that I have made to this magnificent allee of trees, if indeed it is almost impossible to find the necessary hindsight to have everything in full. But this is not what makes them difficult has put in box: this allee is located not far from the campus of the EPFL (Southern University, periphery Lausanne)... There is always the world and I waited on the evening to try to learn something. The Sun had set. It was a true white light, which explains this bizarre clarity. The silhouette of the couple (who has had the good idea of to remove quickly enough) gives a good idea of the height and length of the allee... Except that I am a little pres in the middle (so just a little less the same distance behind me).

Bravo for this beautiful image. The trees give the impression of being the garde-du-corps of the path. Impressive this height

The fairway tightens on the two tiny students that are a real bonus for this shot ! I turn around and I see in imagination what is in front of me... Of a plane tree, I presume What do you call 'white day' my dear Hiris, since I don't see any snow on the ground A sky pallid ? Congratulations for the feat

Thank you Lumixane to ask the question on the 'white day'. In some way yes.
'White' (adjective or name) has many connotations associated with it. 'White day' is apparent directly to this definition : 'That does not have all the usual effects'.
The expression 'white as snow', refers to the color and is used in the proper sense of the term.
While the term 'white day' ('day' = synonymous with clarity, light, and 'white' taken in 1 sense, more figuratively, synonymous with bleak, pale) would mean, quite the contrary, because of its association with 'empty' (1 other definition of 'white'). So quite undefinable !
As an anecdote: the expression 'to Have a 'white' (used for 'a silence in a debate or a memory hole), would be of swiss origin?! ? 1st new !

I forgot to specify that it must be of beech after the fruit I've seen on the ground. Given that this species can reach up to 45m, this seems to me plausible enough to match the trees in my photo. I have not found information on this topic.

This sober aisle trunks grey without end, is majestic ! Damage to the right, the sky is so bleak !
