Dsc0836 Nankeen Night Heron

Author 'Patrice Morin' A voir (Id 35074 ) : I still have a doubt if this bird is a Black-crowned night or a Bittern, it seems to me very young, but never misses a meal.

It is always difficult to distinguish between the bittern of the night heron, and especially in the juvenile, of course ! But then, very sincerely, I bet on the night heron, beautiful by the way ! Bravo.

She is very beautiful this picture, taken on the spot : it was not long ago that the fish was taken. It is a juvenile 'night heron grey' (Nicticorax nicticorax) with feathers and a beak rather dark. Very similar, the juvenile 'Bittern' (Botaurus stellarius) has a plumage and a beak more clearly. The shot is sharp and well presented : well done and thank you.

The bird is a bit high in the photo, but the sharpness is there, we can see very well the plumage and the meal.

I am cetaine that our Fan Belfortain will be able to light our lanterns I love the plumage of this bird I put a note max. Even if the color of the water seems a little 'plastic'
