Nice photo of the Middle Ages. It can be observed that the door is recessed in the wall to a depth of at least 50 cm. It is not a door ornament, but an exit door with a defensive character. The door is narrow and appears to be studded. This device had the effect of deflecting the iron of the axe of the assailants. The stack of stones with a vertical plane and mastered a testament to the know-how of the time. Above the tympanum of the door you may observe a row of stones projecting. There is probably a fall drops. To either side of the door it can also be observed a row of pebbles which has a decorative function. In those days who were troubled they had kept a aesthetic side in spite of everything. See you soon for other photos. Friendships. Marcel.

Hello Crabecanoe. It is true that the clarifications are going well... thank you of course for this cultural contribution. It is well seen this path of flat stones projecting... according to you, it was a ' fall in drops '... I guess it had to serve to avoid the waterfalls at the level of the foundations, if it has ? Avoid any form of moisture so that it only goes up by capillary action... seen the 'tympanum', which adorns somewhat of a 'narrow door' studded rather 'defensive' than decorative... certainly at this time we practiced more utility than the pleasant side, I agree. The decorum which I spoke of worked most of the frescoes, the decorative figures, which seem to have a connection with the spiritual, if I may say so : species of character ' angelic '... rising in front of us by the grace of his wings... The pebble to change a little the monotony of the building and give him an appeal (Discussion to be broken.) Thank you, friend. Marc.
