Tillandsia usneoides. Here's what I could read on a sign near this incredible plant. The daughter of the air, of the family bromeliaceae, which grows to great height in trees and has no roots. Instead, it has tiny scales that allow it to capture water and nutrients in the moist air. When it dries out, the space between the shells is filled with air and the scales turn white, which protects them against the force of the sun. It can reach 30m long.
