Pandanus Pandanus Utilis

Author 'Momjade' (Id 174273 ) : I believe that it is the fruit of pandanus. That is correct me if this is incorrect. I took this photo in the Botanical Garden of Montreal among a multitude of beautiful plants.

For the previous Palm-banana, having seen the trunk and a little leaves, I am almost sure it was a pandanus. The I'm a little confused but I think that it is also a pandanus. But, there are hundreds of species.

Hello Hiedra! It is on that is not a banana because I know him very well. If there are different varieties of pandanus, it must be one.

Me too I swear that this is not a banana tree: I have in my garden. I would bet on a pandanus but which, there are more than 600 species in the world and I've seen of very different here in New Caledonia, Vanuatu and even in Australia. The fruits are similar to those of the Australian Pandanus Spiralus whose leaves are triple spiral along the trunk. For judging, should see the trunk and leaves.

The next time that I will go to the Botanical Garden, I will try to see if I can find it. Maybe even there is a card that identifies it but that I wouldn't overview.
