I have never encountered this butterfly, it is magnificent, the two ornaments on the upper wings are reminiscent of the cats eyes.

Very good macro! The image has been well edited, review may be trimming the butterfly to make it less obvious ...

Very nice photo, the details are very much alive, that my name is derived from this wonderful butterfly fills me with pride, it's a cliché really well: 1:

A animal endangered is sacred in my eyes, please make it still living thanks to this picture.

Bravo for this very beautiful photo of vanesse 'small turtle' (I don't know the origin of the name...) which is unfortunately endangered in my region of the Limousin. I have seen only one this summer, so that this species was very common there are still a few years. Let's preserve their food plants weeding blind and fool the edges of paths and wasteland.

It flashes and it is beautiful. A small reserve for the position of the butterfly, but let's not be afraid of change...

This butterfly is 'Small Vanesse'(Nymphalis milberti) is a marvel so much, the colours are vibrant and well developed on the yellow flower he wife entirely and on the green background. Perfect !

It was worth the wait ! This butterfly with outstretched wings is really beautiful ! A little too centered. I agree with Marcel to remove the stem. It is a very beautiful shot !

Beautiful photo of this butterfly in great sharpness, with exceptional colors. It is well highlighted on the foliage. Your patience is rewarded. Excellent.
> Marcel >Reply Jul 18, 2007
A little too centered, but not so disturbing. The picture is especially clear. The stem is straight and clear would be to remove.
> Le Fada de Marseille [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Jul 18, 2007
It is the Small vanesse(Nymphalis milberti). It has a livery very distinctive, and it is smaller than its congeners. She is a brunette, the portion external is crossed with a broad band of marginal bright orange to yellow. A row of blue spots highlights the irregular shape of the hindwing. Very beautiful photo !
