Author 'Emie.h' A voir (Id 37058 ) : At the top of the sacre coeur in Paris, I was surprised to find this style of engraving... I know unfortunately not their meaning or origin.

Nguyendomy, the medium is stone, but The fan belfortain, it is not a cliché n&b, this is indeed a cliché color. In fact, the stone is white (characteristic of the rock that fades to white with the water and rain) and unfortunately, I think the black is none other than the pollution... Between air pollution, and vandals, it is a shame for this beautiful building

Bravo Nguyendomy for this comment. He would have to actually have a few details. The photo is interesting and the letters are well developed and the black and white is perfectly appropriate. Thank you.

the same as the one on the left barely visible, this one makes me think of a tracery of celtic origin... You'll have to wait for the advice of a specialist because I am curious to know.

It looks like interwoven initials is it an engraving on wood or on stone it's a Pity that some vandals have affixed their claws.
