Beautiful photo, remarkably clear, we can clearly see the head and thorax of hoverfly. Bravo!
> HubertR. >Reply Dec 21, 2008
Excellent, but really without flash? What type of lighting used?
> Pierrorelie [G] [P] [C] >Reply Aug 11, 2008
It is a very beautiful subject, a thousand bravos.
Damage, however, for the sheen on the thorax.

What more can we say ? Nothing except that this macro is remarkable. I purchased the kit Raynox me as there is little time, but with or without the foot with my dslr Sony A100, impossible to get a photo like that. I have however made many tests, with different lenses and focal lengths, but the magnification obtained with this kit is too large for the size of the APS-C sensor slr. The doc indicated the APN to be compatible, and it was all of the bridges to small sensors, and even more, the majority of which are Panasonic.

I would not like to find myself face to face with this insect reaches of gigantism ! The background suits him perfectly. Beautiful

In fact this syrphid gathers near a nuclear power plant, it is two meters fifteen in length, and weighs three hundred pounds . Go on, go on, a bit serious... Here, it is stunning. You have taken a photo of the 'microscope'. Superb. Bravo
> Ninik [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Mar 31, 2008
Absolutely fantastic from all points of view
There has to be a small edging to finish.
> Guylaine [G] [P] [C] [F] >Reply Mar 31, 2008

Shooting with the kit Raynox DCR250 (as virtually all the photos I've taken in 2008 !) and without walking !!!
It is gentle approach, we block the breathing, the syrphid flies do not move (too much) while it takes 3 images in quick succession. That's all ! Small precision : this syrphid is in fact a 'Syrphus torvus' because of her eyes hairy.

Thank you to tou(te)s for your comments !
