Thank you for this testimony. The image of this woman all dressed in black in front of this flower bed of roses and this lying is very beautiful.

A beautiful image of a scene of life and with a good commentary that allows us to understand the scene. We see his rosary and also his cane, that makes us understand also his difficulty in climbing the stairs.

This is the comment that guided me where to look. Otherwise, I was looking at first flowers, which are at the center of attention to the illumination and their color. Then I looked at the statue which made me think that he had pierced the chest with a spear. The woman is lost in the shadows. I would have made a cut vertically on the woman, the stairs and the wall to the tree, which would better represent your comment.

It is images for which comments are rare, but this is not the number of the latter, who is always a guarantee of quality. Yours is much evidence that a first reading of this scene leads the photographer to pay attention to the flowers, to the equestrian statue... and discovers that not necessarily the most essential : the expression of a religious fervor so strong that it feels the need to speak here at the bottom of this staircase, while the space dedicated to this practice is very close, what I didn't know at that time. My initial reading was, therefore, in any point identical to yours, and I composed my frame by integrating the character of the lady in black because it allowed me to introduce the living in the image. I'm not sure that the proposal you make would lead to the visitor not to notice the beads of the lady who prays but rather to be classified wrongly in the category of beggars.

A photo very expressive : This lady in black, in the shade, counting off his rosary, waiting for the passage of the valley of the shadow of death to the Light of a space flowery and optimistic. Thanks for sharing and see you soon.

Thank you for this remarkable comment, which fits perfectly to this scene although it is unrelated to my motivation at the time I pressed the shutter. I was then looking out of the door of Stone and space votive in which popular piety, which led many passers-by to stop to collect. I am the first fallen, standing in the middle of a flower bed surrounded by a grid, on the equestrian statue of St. George coming to slay the dragon, and the Woman in black diving in his prayers. Off-topic I thought, nothing to do with the Stone gate and the 'miracle' of the portraits to be spared by the fire ! I was in error : the following photo will show. Fortunately, an old reflex made me press the trigger before they even know the interest which this image could be loaded. Well I took !

Sorry, but you will not see the next photo, the one that had to bring you proof that the woman in black was not off topic because its presence in this place was well justified by the proximity of the Stone gate. The photo that I proposed to the rest of my comment has not been validated.
